Our adoption process is designed to be thorough yet thoughtful, ensuring the best possible outcome for both our animals and their new families. We’re here to guide you through each step, answer any questions you may have, and help you find the perfect match for your home and lifestyle. As a small, dedicated rescue, we pride ourselves on offering continued care and support long after adoption, ensuring every pet—and every adopter—feels confident and supported throughout their journey.

What are the main steps to adopt a pet from Space Pets?

Our adoption journey is simple and clear:
1. Browse: Find your perfect match on our available pets below.
2. Apply: Complete our adoption form here
3. Initial chat: A friendly phone call to understand your needs and preferences.
4. Home check: We'll visit to ensure a safe and loving environment.
5. Meet & greet: Spend time with your chosen pet to confirm it's the right fit. You can then decide to adopt!

ADOPTION FEE

For every animal we rehome we do have an adoption fee which goes towards helping cover the cost of food, vet bills, neutering, vaccinations and care of the animals when they are with us. Our adoption fees are non-negotiable and non-refundable as they allow us to continue the work we do. The adoption fees are as follows:

- CATS (1 year plus) £100, a pair of cats is £160

- KITTENS (under a year) £120, a pair of kittens is £200

Kittens are only rehomed 8 weeks old and above.

 

What's the most important aspect of your adoption process?

Our process is thorough yet thoughtful, always prioritising each animal’s welfare. We provide continued care and regular contact, ensuring you feel supported throughout your pet’s life. We focus on finding practical solutions and offering unwavering support—something that defines us as a small, dedicated rescue committed to the long‑term wellbeing of every animal we rehome.

Do you adopt to people in flats, with children or other pets, or if they work full-time?

Yes - we consider all applications. We successfully rehome pets to individuals living in flats, families with children, and homes with existing pets. We also adopt to people who don’t work from home, as long as suitable arrangements are in place to support the pet’s wellbeing. Every application is assessed on lifestyle, suitability, and the ability to meet the animal’s needs, rather than generic factors like property type.

We also provide full rescue backup for the pet’s entire life, ensuring they always have a safe haven if circumstances change.

Meet Nala - a beautiful 4 year old fluffy girl with the sweetest personality. she is a calm cat who takes a short while to warm up to new people, but once bonded, you will find her relaxing beside you on the sofa for late night TV watching cuddles! 

She loves to be around you and loves all the attentiom

She has lived with cats prior but has shown food some levels of food possession and isnt afraid to his and swat other felines for it! She might be best as the only feline. 

She prefers a calmer home with older children and adults

Cali & Coco - Avaliable

Meet Cali and Coco - a dynamic, inseparable duo searching for their forever home together. These two girls are deeply bonded and do everything side‑by‑side: playing, eating, grooming, and curling up for cosy naps. All of their kittens have now found loving homes, and it’s finally their turn to enjoy the same happy ending.

Cali and Coco love to lounge but will happily remind you when it’s time for first, second, and third dinner. They enjoy fuss, pets, and attention, and are known for being wonderfully talkative, cheerful companions who brighten any room they’re in.

Both girls are spayed, microchipped, and have started their vaccine course. They are affectionate, social, and ready to bring double the love to a home that welcomes them together.

Cali and Coco are currently in foster care in SE25 and are looking for a calm, loving home where they can continue thriving as the perfect pair.

Bishop - Avaliable

Meet Bishop - a confident, affectionate young girl around 10 months old who is ready to soak up all the love for herself. Bishop is an outgoing, people‑focused cat who loves greeting anyone who crosses her path. She was surrendered with her sister Babybel, but it’s clear she thrives best as an only pet, where she can enjoy undivided attention and all the affection she craves.

During the day, Bishop adores being close to her humans, following you around and happily soaking up fuss and affection. At night, she transforms into the perfect cuddle companion, settling in beside you for cosy snuggles. She is super friendly, social, and confident, and can live happily with children.

Bishop will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped in the coming weeks, and she’s ready to find a loving home that can give her the dedicated companionship she deserves.

Babybel - RESERVED

 
 

Meet Babybel - a calm, gentle young girl around 10 months old who loves nothing more than quietly watching the world go by. Babybel was surrendered with her sister Bishop, and while they’ve both adapted beautifully in foster care, Babybel has shown herself to be a wonderfully chilled, easygoing cat who enjoys a peaceful, steady routine.

She adores head pets, gentle fuss, and relaxing near her humans. Her foster describes her as incredibly sweet, soft‑natured, and happy to simply “go with the flow.” She’s the kind of cat who brings a sense of calm to any home.

Babybel will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped in the coming weeks before heading off to her new family. She can live with children and other cats with a slow, thoughtful introduction.

Babybel is currently in foster care in SE26 and is ready to find a loving home that appreciates her gentle, relaxed personality.

 

Storm - Avaliable

Meet Storm - She is a beautiful 3‑year‑old black cat with a cute white tuft on her chest; after being dumped at the vets with her four kittens, she’s shown nothing but sweetness - shy but not for long. She is friendly, food‑loving and affectionate. She was happily wandering the house alongside a senior feline when she arrived to us, and always coming when called for meals!

She will be ready for her new beginning after her spay.

Storm is currently in foster care in Gravesend, DA11

Buzz - Avaliable

Meet Buzz - a 17‑year‑old male Ragdoll looking for a calm, loving retirement home. Buzz is a sweet, steady senior who enjoys a peaceful life and gentle companionship. He has his playful moments and loves spending time near his humans, happily relaxing in the same room and seeking out fuss and head pets when he wants attention. He’s largely independent but deeply appreciates calm, reassuring company.

Buzz has met calm dogs in foster and has shown no negative reaction, making him a suitable match for a quiet home with respectful pets. His ideal environment is one where he can enjoy comfort, routine, and a soft spot to snooze the day away.

He is currently in foster care in SE18 and is ready to find a serene retirement home where he can enjoy his golden years with kindness and stability.

Brie - NOT READY

Meet Brie - a young, stunning little cat who came to us unwanted, straying, and heavily pregnant. Despite her difficult start, Brie has shown nothing but confidence, friendliness, and affection. She arrived needing safety and support, and we’ve taken her in so she can give birth, raise her kittens securely, and receive full veterinary care when the time is right.

Brie is estimated to be around a year old or younger, still just a baby herself. She’s a bright, social soul who greets her foster carers with head bumps and nuzzles, always ready for fuss and attention. Her colouring is absolutely beautiful, and her personality is just as lovely.

Once ready, Brie will be spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and then she’ll be ready to find her perfect forever home.

Meet Harry! He is an energetic boy with fun, mischief, and personality, yet he’s also incredibly sweet and playful.

Raised around children and his siblings, he’s well‑accustomed to the hustle and bustle of family life, and now that he’s separate from mum, fully weaned, and confidently using the litter tray, he’s thriving as an independent youngster.

Harry has grown into a happy, confident kitten who will make a wonderful addition to his forever home.

Carna - NEARLY READY

Meet Baby Carna - the cheeky, playful little brother to Sugar. Carna was found without his mum at just two weeks old, alongside his siblings. Despite such a vulnerable start, he has shown incredible resilience. Now hitting three weeks, he has doubled in size and tripled in personality, quickly becoming a lively, confident kitten.

He is full of playful, cheeky behaviour and is very active, always exploring, interacting, and showing off his growing confidence. Carna’s foster carers describe him as bright, energetic, and full of character - a tiny kitten with a big presence.

Carna is currently in foster care in Faversham, Kent (ME13).

Evie - NEARLY READY

Meet Evie - the calm, gentle sister to Baby Sugar, found without her mum at just two weeks old. Evie arrived in a vulnerable state alongside her siblings, having gone over 24 hours without their mother. Despite such a tough start, she has blossomed beautifully in foster care.

Evie loves to eat, nap, and cuddle up with the foster dogs, who she happily treats as her stand‑in mums. After filling her tummy, she settles into soft, cosy naps and has the sweetest, quietest little meow. Her foster carers describe her as a gentle, loving girl with a calm nature and nothing but affection to give.

Evie is currently in foster care in Faversham, Kent (ME13).

Joe - Avaliable

Meet Joe

He is an energetic little fluffball who is full of fun, mischief and personality, but he is also incredibly sweet and playful 

Joe has been raised around children and his sibliongs so is used to the hustle and bustle of family life. he is now separate from mum, fully weaned and happily using the litter tray.

Joe has growing into confident, happy little kitten and will make wonderful additions to his forever homes

Bubbles - Avaliable

Meet Bubbles - the calm, placid sister to little Squeak. At just 8 weeks old, Bubbles is already showing her sweet, easygoing personality. She loves spending time with her siblings and enjoys relaxing with her human friends, taking everything in with a gentle, content nature.

She’s gaining plenty of weight, developing beautifully, and is a happy, healthy little girl. While her brother Squeak is the vocal one, Bubbles brings the soft, serene balance - a peaceful kitten with a loving temperament.

Bubbles is currently in foster care in Peckham, SE15.

Egg - RESERVED

Egg (right) is the most playful of the bunch. His confidence knows no size - he’ll happily bounce, chase, and play with cats five times bigger than him without a second thought. He’s bold, energetic, and full of cheeky kitten charm.

Now 8 weeks old and ready to find his forever home!

Egg is currently in foster care in Peckham, SE15.

Bacon - Avaliable

Meet Bacon, shes now an 8 week old confident kitten.

Bacon is the sweet, food‑loving cuddle bug. She adores her meals, enjoys snuggling up with her humans, and has a soft, affectionate nature that makes her a joy to be around.

Bacon is currently in foster in Peckham, SE15.

Jalapeño - Avaliable

Meet Jalapeño - a young mum who has survived far more than any cat should. Jalapeño was a stray being fed by kind neighbours, doing her best to survive outdoors. She gave birth in a garden and, heartbreakingly, endured harassment from several males while she was in labour and continuing onto her young. A member of the public reached out for help, and we made space immediately. Jalapeño and her kittens were transported into safety, where she could finally rest and protect her babies without fear.

In foster care, she has been deeply protective and understandably cautious, keeping her little ones close and guarding them with everything she had. Now that her kittens have weaned, Jalapeño is finally able to build trust independently and begin developing her own personality outside of motherhood. She has proven to be sweet and affectionate, yet still has far to come. She will need an adult only home with no other pets, for now.

She is currently being fostered in Sydenham SE26

Thunder - Avaliable

Thunder lovely 8 week boy absolutely loves being a terror and is always keeping everyone on their toes! 

He loves to play rough with his siblings, especially his little brother Rain, and when he’s not causing mischief, he can be found playing with his toys before eventually running out of energy and snuggling up for a cuddle 

Despite being such a little troublemaker, Thunder really is a sweet boy with a wonderful personality and the loudest purr. At just 8 weeks old, he’s full of love, energy, mischief and cuddles, and he’s sure to keep his new family entertained!

Mitch - Avaliable

Mitch is a sweet, affectionate and slightly shy boy who loves head rubs, cuddles, Dreamies and relaxing by the window.

He enjoys going outside but never stays out for long. He’d suit a calm home and, with patience, should settle well. He may be able to live with other cats with careful introductions.

Mitch is neutered, microchipped and ready for his forever home.

Se20, Penge

Jade - RESERVED

Meet Jade - one of the most affectionate cats you will ever meet. Jade was one of the last remaining cats from the Grove Park stray colony, a group lovingly fed and neutered over time by a dedicated local resident. When she arrived with us, she was heavily pregnant and soon gave birth to four beautiful, healthy babies.

Throughout her time in foster care, Jade has shown nothing but gentleness, calmness, and an enormous capacity for affection. She loves attention, seeks out human company, and will happily sit beside you for fuss, comfort, and companionship. Her foster carers describe her as soft‑natured, loving, and incredibly people‑focused.

Once her kittens are fully weaned, Jade will be spayed and ready to begin her own journey into a forever home. She would prefer to be an only pet, where she can enjoy a peaceful environment and soak up all the affection she adores.

Jade is a truly special girl — affectionate, gentle, and ready for a home that will cherish her as much as she will cherish her humans.
