At Space Pets Rescue And Rehoming, we're dedicated to finding loving forever homes for our rescue animals. All our animals go into a foster home before starting their journey to finding their forever home. Our fosterers play a vital role in raising, socialising, handling and caring for our animals to get them ready for rehoming. Without all the help from our fosterers we wouldn't be able to do the work we do. We cover all of the animals vet bills, food, medical care and supplies so you don't have to pay anything. All we ask is that you have a warm home with soft blanket ready for a pet that needs our help. Our fosterers vary from kitten and hand rearing fosterers, to senior fosterers, medical fosterers and happy to have anything fosterers. We have no commitment obligation and will only pair you with an animal that suits your schedule and lifestyle. We are on hand 24/7 should you ever have any questions and also offer a veery welcoming fosterer group chat to share and see all our foster animals journeys.

What are the main steps to foster for Space Pets?
Our fostering application is simple and clear:
1. Apply: Complete our fostering form here
2. Initial chat: An in depth call to discuss your suitability and availability
4. Home check: We'll visit to ensure a safe and loving environment and see the available space.
5. Setting up: We will get you supplied with all the equipment needed for you to start fostering
6. Meeting your foster: Once we have a suitable foster pet we'll drop them to you to get settled into their temporary home
What kind of home are you looking for?
We are looking for people that understand fostering is a journey not a race. As well as having animals surrendered from loving homes we also take in animals with a not so pretty past that may need more time, training or care than your average pet. The reward of watching your foster animal grow over time is one of the best experiences so we are looking for people that have patience as well as an open heart. We are looking for people that understand the time and patience that goes into fostering an animal as well as preparing them for their new homes.
What's the most important aspect of your foster process?
Our process is thorough but thoughtful. We make sure to be as open and honest as possible with our fosterers about an animal that needs a space so there is no mistake when placing them into their foster home. We will always assess the animals temperament and behaviour before placing them into foster and are very strict on our risk assessments and safety policies.
Do you allow people in flats, with children or other pets, or working to foster?
Yes! We consider all fostering applications. We already rehome pets to individuals living in flats, families with children, and homes with existing pets as well as those who don't work from home, ensuring suitable arrangements are in place for the pet's well-being. We place all foster animals into homes that match their needs and behaviour as not every animal is the same. We provide full support and care to all of our fosterers including training, handling advice and support on fostering in general.
